With regard to the writing of Wills and the problems experienced by executors in Braintree, in October 2014, SunLife issued its ‘Cost of Dying’ report that identified some of the most common problems associated with administering the estate of someone who has deceased.
One of the most striking pieces of information that can be derived from the report is the fact that the cost of dying in places like Braintree now stands at approximately £8,427 which is an approximately 10% increase on 2013’s figure. As a result, it is arguably not all that surprising around 38% of those that responded claimed to have had no option but to pay a deceased’s bill from out of their own funds with no guarantee that such payments would ever be refunded from out of the settlement of the estate of the deceased.
Another common problem experienced by executors in locations including Braintree is the fact that acting in this capacity could prove to be a time consuming process. By way of illustration, the aforementioned report also found that approximately 33% of all executors that were survey reported having to take a minimum of five days away from their employment to sort out administrative tasks associated with the grant of probate.
In addition, it has also been found that customer care has proved to be somewhat lacking from financial institutions associated with administering an estate in places like Braintree. Such a view is supported by the fact that the report found around 20% of those surveyed claimed to have received poor service from these kinds of companies.
