Why do i need a will? The answer is surprisingly simple.

Take a piece of plain white paper and fold it multiple times. When you unfold it you have lots of sections. Imagine each section represents the many different things that you have worked hard all your life for, e.g. your home, personal items, money, and other assets.

Now, you have two options. . .

First, do nothing. Your surviving family members, that are legally entitled to a share of your estate, take what they want for themselves. That is fine if your family gets along together and can see the bigger picture. But what if they don’t?

OR,

Imagine that your family members, who are legally entitled to a share of your estate, start pulling and tearing at that piece of paper trying to get what they want while others look on helplessly. Soon, everything you worked for will be in a complete mess with people getting things that you may never have even wanted them to!

It doesn’t seem like a great picture, does it?

However, what if there was a plan? What if you actually had a Will in place at the time of your passing?

Don’t forget that piece of paper! Whereas no Will in place could lead to a free-for-all, having a Will in place could be like having a surgeon’s tools to carefully divide your estate between those that YOU actually want to benefit from your estate in the way that YOU want.

Something to think about . . .
